Scattered to the Wind

11:26 - 1998

"Scattered to the Wind" is a study of spatial gesture as wind, and music as continuous flow. The work utilises the dynamism of the wind to drive a series of transitions. I first became interested in exploring sonic representations of the elements in 1995, at which time I composed "By River's Edge," recently I completed "angelfire."

"Scattered to the Wind" was created using a Pentium II/266 running AudioMulch 0.7b2 and CoolEdit Pro LE, a few water sound files, and an EPS16+ sampler.

Ross is a composer and software developer currently based in Adelaide, South Australia. He studied computer music composition and sound synthesis at the now defunkt LaTrobe University Music Department. Ross is the author of AudioMulch Interactive Music Studio http://www.audiomulch.com/.
