Biography
Robert J. Bovard, (MFA Design and Technology, Dallas Theatre Center/Trinity University) is serving as the Technical Director/Production Manager on a Visiting Professor appointment. During the final year of construction and the first year-and-a-half of operation, Bob was the Director for Stage Technologies at EMPAC working with the contractor and RPI. During that time, EMPAC presented over 200 events. Bob has been on the graduate faculty and the Technical Director for Indiana University (Bloomington IN), University of Colorado and Trinity University. Bob worked with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival from 1987–2004 as Production Director and in other positions. He has been involved with over 500 productions while employed as Technical Director and/or Designer at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Indiana University, University of Colorado, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Trinity University, OffStage Inc., Fiesta Dinner Playhouse, San Antonio Festival, DanceArt Inc. and Dallas Theatre Center. He has designed scenery and/or lights for over 130 productions.
